times. Total snow accumulations 7 to 15 inches.

* WHERE...Northern Susitna Valley, including the Parks Highway
corridor through Broad Pass.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult, with low visibility and
rapidly accumulating snow along the Parks Highway.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Light snow will fall overnight tonight through
Thursday morning, with 3 to 6 inches accumulation. Snowfall
intensity will then increase during the afternoon hours. The
heaviest snow will fall Thursday night through Friday morning. Snow
could then mix with or change to rain Friday afternoon as
temperatures warm above freezing.

What to do: A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous. If you must travel, keep

* WHAT...Small stream and localized urban flooding caused by
excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Seward.

* WHEN...From Thursday evening through Friday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive rainfall may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A strong frontal system with an atmospheric river of moisture
will move over the southern Kenai Peninsula Thursday through
Friday. Although light rain will begin Thursday morning, a period
of heavy rain is expected late Thursday evening through Friday
morning before the rain slowly tapers off Friday afternoon.
Rainfall rates of up to a quarter of an inch per hour are
possible between 10 PM Thursday and 10 AM Friday, with a storm
total between 3 and 4 inches of rain likely with event. Prolonged
heavy rain may lead to areas of flooding along smaller streams
and creeks, in low-lying and poor drainage areas, and ponding of
water on roadways.

accumulations up to two inches and ice accumulation up to one tenth
of an inch.

* WHERE...The Susitna Valley, from around Willow north to the
Talkeetna Spur Road.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
will impact the Thursday morning commute. Roads, and especially
bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous.

tonight. Warmer air aloft will then cause a mix of precipitation
types late tonight through Thursday morning with a general
transition from snow to freezing rain. The willow area, which tends
to hold on to colder surface temperatures has the highest potential
for freezing rain. Surface temperatures will slowly rise above
freezing late Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon, with a
changeover to plain rain.

Areas of concern are between Nome and Council, particularity streams
and rivers draining the south aspects of the high elevation terrain
of the Seward Peninsula.

Rivers and streams in the Nome and Council area are already high
following rainfall over the weekend and early this week. Around 0.25
to 0.50" of additional rain is expected by the end of the week which
will keep water levels high. No flooding is expected but those along
the rivers and streams should be vigilant of the high water that is
expected through the end of the week.
